1.
Gathering:
Using one of the values that guide the mission of Jubilee House each
person shared a story of justice from their life.
2.
Congregational Review: The MVS program has asked FOH and PSMC as supporting
congregations to review the congregation’s ongoing commitment to Jubilee
House. Each congregation will
process this individually and then together. Nathan Penner, MVS Director, has agreed to moderate the
discussion between the two congregations.
The goal is to complete the process in early May.
3.
Local Program Coordinator: The final draft of the Program Coordinator position was
reviewed. Comments included the
possibility of adding another church as a supporting congregation that is representative
of the community of color in south
central Elkhart. The Support
Committee needs to include JH alumni.
Other comments:
a. Art
stated that due to personal transitions, he will be leaving the Support
Committee in August.
b. Suella
indicated that it is an appropriate time for her to end her work at Local
Program Coordinator in August as well.
She is willing to assist with the transition as needed.
c. Jeff
Hoover will be leaving the Support Committee in August as well.
4.
Local Placements:
Art shared about a meeting with CAPS (Children and Parent Services) and
their interest in having an MVSer.
5.
2013/2014 Household: An intern from ND will be in the house this summer. No new applications have been
received. Becky will continue next
year, Katie is discussing a placement for next year with CCS, Suella will
follow-up with Osee and Daniel about being Associate MVSers next year.
6.
Meal at JH on Monday, May 13 at 6:00 followed by a
discussion regarding the Local Program Coordinator and structure of the Support
Committee
7.
Next meeting:
Monday, June 10 at 5:30 at FOH.
